Why Spiders
Secure booster hold
Grips the booster firmly with spring-loaded arms. The booster won't shift during loading.
Why it matters: Your primer stays exactly where you positioned it. No wondering if it slipped during stemming.
Centralizes detonator
Holds the detonator centered inside the booster for optimal initiation geometry.
Why it matters: Consistent detonation transfer to the explosive column. Better energy distribution per hole.
Protects initiation cord
Shields detonating cord and signal tube from damage during loading and stemming.
Why it matters: No crushed or kinked lines. Your initiation path stays intact through the loading process.
Simplifies primed booster installation
Pre-assemble the primed booster at the collar, then lower the whole unit to depth.
Why it matters: Faster, safer primer placement. Less time reaching into holes, less chance of a hookup error.
Strong positioning design
Rigid arms and base hold position against stemming pressure and explosive weight.
Why it matters: The booster stays at design depth. Your blast pattern delivers the fragmentation you planned.
Durable hose fit base
Base fits standard ANFO and emulsion loading hoses for combined loading and placement.
Why it matters: Lower the spider and load through it in one step. Streamlines your loading sequence.
Built for the bench.
Centers the charge
Holds the explosive column on-axis in upholes. Prevents cascading and uneven detonation.
Engineered fit
Sized to common hole diameters — pick the spider that matches your bench.
Built for every condition.
Uphole charging
When you need the column centered against gravity in an angled or vertical uphole.

|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| What It Does In the Hole | Holds the emulsion column in upholes during loading while letting gas through | Fillable polypropylene tube — ANFO, emulsion, or stemming material goes in on site | Seals against the hole wall to block a breakthrough, cap an uphole, or contain a cracked/wet hole | Centers the booster in the explosive column so detonation propagates evenly | Anchors the booster against flotation when pumpable explosives or water are present |
| Hole Size Range | 2.5" – 4.5" / 64 – 115 mm | 3" – 8" diameter, 36" – 48" length (76 – 203 mm × 914 – 1,219 mm) | 2.5" – 8" / 64 – 203 mm | 2.5" – 4.5" / 64 – 115 mm | 5"+ / 127 mm+ |
| Material | Polymer bristles + stainless steel spine | Polypropylene (poly bag) | Reinforced rubber bladder + nylon webbing | Plastic housing | Polymer (potato-sack design) |
| Power / Mechanism | None — bristles fold on insertion, grip the wall | None — filled on site | Compressed air via drop line, hermetic valve | None — friction legs fold on insertion | None — clips onto booster |
| Best For | Underground emulsion upholes | Wet, cracked, or irregular open-pit holes | Wet holes, breakthroughs, cracks/voids | Booster centralization in production holes | Wet boreholes with pumpable explosives |

Pick SLUMPSTOPPA™ when you're loading emulsion into underground upholes and the column won't stay where you put it. Polymer bristles with a stainless steel spine fold on insertion and grip the hole wall — holding the emulsion column in place while the bristles let the gas through normally. Three sizes: 2.5"–3", 3"–4", 4"–4.5" (64–115 mm). The dedicated emulsion-slump solution.
Pick Shot Bags when the hole is wet, cracked, or won't hold a clean column on its own. Empty polypropylene tubes you fill on site with the material the hole needs — ANFO or emulsion to make a bagged charge that won't get diluted by water or lost into cracks, or stemming material (drill cuttings, sand, gravel) to add weight to the column. Eight sizes from 3" × 36" to 8" × 36" (76 – 203 mm × 914 mm). Some sites call them poly bags. Same idea.
Pick BLASTBALL™ when you've got a wet hole, a breakthrough, or cracks and voids that need a reliable seal across an irregular bore. The only inflatable in this collection rated for wet-hole deployment — lower it through water on a drop line, then inflate with compressed air. Reinforced rubber bladder with nylon webbing handles -58°F to 185°F (-50°C to 85°C). Three sizes covering 2.5" to 8" (64 – 203 mm).
Pick a MultiFit Spider when you need the booster centered in the explosive column for even detonation. The spider's flexible legs fold on insertion and extend automatically once it's in the hole, centering the booster and protecting the detonator wire. Two sizes — 150G fits 2.5" – 4.5" holes (64 – 115 mm) and supports lighter boosters; 250G fits the same range and supports heavier boosters. Quick "shotgun-style" load through a 25 ID / 32 OD ANFO hose.
Pick the Booster Lock when you're running pumpable explosives or loading into wet boreholes and the booster wants to float. Clips onto the booster and locks it at the depth you set, so the primer stays where the shot design called for. Fits holes 5" (127 mm) and larger. Simple clip-on design — no inflation, no tools.
