Friction retention
Collet-like fin closure
Maximum holding, minimal leak
Line passage design
Rigid and semi-rigid types
Easy installation method
The ROCKRIVET™ stemming plug uses friction from its fins to hold in the wall of the hole. The fins close up as you push it in and bite once it’s set. It keeps the charge where you put it and cuts down on leaking. There’s a clear passthrough for your downline so you don’t pinch it or cut it off.
You can push it with an ANFO hose, or use the ROCKRIVET Connector on a 1¼" load pole. Twist to break it off once you’re at height. It stays put after that and doesn’t walk, twist, or shift on you.
Rigid versions hold heavier loads. Semi-rigid versions go in easier in tighter holes.
If you’re used to using a spider plug, this does the same job. Just a different fin design.
Terms & Conditions
How It Works
- Connect to a load pole.
- Push it into the hole.
- The fins close, then expand and grab onto the wall. That hold keeps your charge from shifting.
- The center channel gives the downline room so it doesn’t get pinched or damaged.
- Twist to extract the load pole and move on to the next hole.
Non-Sparking
Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ's - ROCKRIVETS
What does the ROCKRIVET™ stemming plug do?
It grips the wall of the hole and keeps the explosives or stemming from moving. The fins give the hold.
Can I use it like a spider plug?
Yes. ROCKRIVETS™ are a spider plug.
Does the downline fit through it?
Yes. There’s a passthrough so the line doesn’t get pinched.
How do you install it?
Push it with an ANFO hose or a load pole. The ROCKRIVET™ Connector locks the ROCKRIVET™ onto the load pole. A simple twist releases it from the pole. This keeps the plug from dropping into a crack or void, and it stops it from flipping over while you’re pushing it in. The Connector is not required to install ROCKRIVET™, but is included with every purchase.
When should I use rigid vs semi-rigid?
Rigid holds heavier loads. Semi-rigid installs easier in tight holes. If you are in a warmer climate, typically rigid works best. Colder climates see better results with semi-rigid. If you any questions about which type of ROCKRIVET™ to use, please contact us at sales@mtigroup.us.
Does it shift once it’s set?
If using the correct size/type, no. The fins grab and stay in place.
